Unlockable vs Stan

Unlockable

10% + 10% buyer fee

10% of your list price, plus a 10% privacy & security fee added to the buyer total. Card processing is covered, so £40 of content pays you £36 and the buyer pays £44.

Stan

$29/mo or $99/mo

A subscription rather than a percentage: $29/month for Creator or $99/month for Creator Pro, with processor fees still applying.

On Unlockable a £40.00 sale pays you £36.00: the buyer covers the privacy & security fee, and card processing comes out of our share. Platform fee and processing are shown separately for Stan because a percentage that excludes processing is not comparable to one that includes it.

When Stan is the better choice

Because Stan charges a subscription rather than a percentage, it takes 0% of each sale. Once your monthly sales are large enough, that is cheaper than any percentage model — including ours — and the saving grows with every sale. It also bundles courses, coaching and community, which we do not offer.

When Unlockable is the better choice

This one is pure arithmetic. If you sell a lot each month, a flat $29 beats a percentage and Stan wins on cost. If you are starting out or sell occasionally, a monthly fee is money spent before you have earned anything, and a percentage that only applies when you make a sale is the lower-risk shape. Neither is wrong; they suit different volumes.
